Activated Sand Filter
This filter bed does not require a backwash pump or the electric and pneumatic valves needed for start‑stop switching, nor does it need separate coagulation and sedimentation basins or their associated mechanical equipment.
Device Features:
• High-efficiency filtration performance: Filtration rates can reach 6–9 meters per hour, with a suspended solids (SS) removal rate exceeding 95%, while also simultaneously removing a portion of phosphorus pollutants.
• Continuous, uninterrupted operation: Equipped with a built‑in air‑water combined backwash system, it enables backwashing without shutting down the unit, completing filtration and cleaning simultaneously to ensure stable treatment efficiency.
• Intelligent Automation Control: Equipped with a PLC control system, it enables fully automated operation throughout the entire process, including backwashing and drainage, while supporting remote monitoring to effectively reduce labor costs.
Application Advantages:
• Stable effluent quality: The sand bed can reach a height of 2–3 meters, offering strong retention capacity. 
The effluent SS can reach 5–10 mg/L, meeting various reuse or discharge standards.
• Excellent resistance to shock loads: It provides strong buffering against fluctuations in influent water quality and flow rate, making it particularly suitable for treating complex wastewater such as industrial effluent.
• Low operating costs: No backwash water is required, compressed air consumption is minimal, and energy consumption is lower than that of conventional processes, resulting in significant savings on operation and maintenance expenses.
• Low head loss: The head loss in the filter bed does not exceed 1.2 m;
• Easy maintenance: The filter media has a low consumption rate, with annual replenishment less than 5%. It requires minimal auxiliary equipment, features a low equipment failure rate, and boasts long maintenance intervals, significantly reducing operational and maintenance workload.
